'Lord, let me be wise'

was once a prayer

is You do not give wisdom

you give situations to be wise

for every gift i ask for

you give opportunities

to use the potential

inside of all of us

for patience &wisdom

strength &compassion

Lord, You are so good

you do not give answers

but lessons

refusal.

just to grasp Your robe

to have that faith

to believe in Your power

to move mountains

but the doubt is so easy

this world is so hard

the pressure to conform

the push to pull away

but Lord i refuse

i want to be transformed

renewed in You

i won't let my soul fade

let my spirit slide

i am a child of God

and forever will proclaim

to the power

my pride is so strong

help is not defeat

is to ask for a help

with the shadow

pushing me down

forcing my glance

with Your strength

the shadows are weak

they hold no power

shadow's wing

is the comfort beneath Your Wing

the protection from all

but residing
